Tohatsu Corporation, the oldest Japanese outboard engine manufacturer with a legacy spanning more than a century, is proud to announce the addition of the ALARIS™ MEP6.0A tiller handle model to its electric outboard lineup.
“We have received many inquiries for tiller handle application within our 6kW output category, thus we decided to expand our product varieties to fulfill the needs of those boaters within the electric outboard market,” said Tohatsu Corporation President Isami Hyuga. “This new model addition enables us to offer a variety of options for outboard electrification and to further achieve our company promise to deliver a smarter and more exciting boating experience.”
The new tiller model will continue to offer many of the current features of the ALARIS™ remote model, such as integrated power tilt and trim, flexible battery configurations and built-in GPS. In addition, the new model’s tiller handle will feature a throttle position sensor, throttle tension adjustment, a resting pad, tilt and trim switch on twist throttle grip end, and a 4.6″ built-in touch screen display to monitor speed, battery state of charge, gear indicator and throttle %.
The prototype tiller model will be displayed at the 2025 Toronto International Boat Show and boot Dusseldorf 2025 simultaneously in January, followed by the 2025 Miami International Boat Show in February.
